How is this different from Slack or Microsoft Teams?
Team Chat is integrated with business phone, SMS, and video meetings on the same platform — messages can click-to-call in one tap, and call/SMS/meeting activity surfaces in the chat feed automatically. Slack and Teams are dedicated collaboration tools without the native telephony layer. Many teams use both (DialPhone for customer-facing + comms, Slack/Teams for internal collaboration).
Can external guests join chat?
Yes. Guest channels let you invite customers, vendors, or partners by email. Guests get limited access — only the specific channels they're invited to. Free for guest users.
Are chat messages searchable and retained?
Yes. Full-text search across channels and DMs with filters for date, author, and attachment type. Retention is customer-configurable (default 1 year, 30 days to 10 years allowed). Audit logs preserve metadata for HIPAA and FINRA workflows.
Does Team Chat support AI features?
