DialPhone’s native Salesforce integration logs every call automatically

Your reps spend hours a week on Salesforce data entry they shouldn’t have to do. DialPhone’s native Salesforce integration runs click-to-dial on every phone number field, transcribes the call live, posts the AI-generated summary to the activity timeline, syncs bi-directionally with custom objects, and drafts follow-up SMS inside the Salesforce UI — all without a line of code. Included on the DialPhone Advanced plan at $34 per user per month.

What it does

  • Click-to-dial on every phone-number field across every standard and custom object
  • AI call transcription auto-logged to the contact, lead, account, opportunity, or custom object
  • AI-generated call summary posted to the activity timeline with intent, sentiment, action items, next steps
  • Bi-directional sync — activity created in DialPhone appears in Salesforce; activities created in Salesforce trigger DialPhone workflows
  • AI SMS drafting inside the Salesforce UI — context-aware replies built from the full contact record
  • Smart Virtual Concierge lead triage — the AI Receptionist creates leads directly in Salesforce with enrichment from the call
  • Screen pop on inbound — the matching Salesforce record opens automatically when the rep answers

How it works in 3 steps

1. Install from AppExchange

Find “DialPhone for Salesforce” on the Salesforce AppExchange. One-click install into your sandbox or production org. The managed package installs custom fields, triggers, and Lightning components.

2. Authenticate with OAuth

OAuth round-trip between your DialPhone account and your Salesforce org. No credentials stored. API access scoped to the objects and fields you approve.

3. Map fields and enable layouts

Default field mappings cover standard objects. Customize for custom fields, custom objects, and picklist values through the admin portal. Enable the DialPhone Lightning component on any page layout where you want click-to-dial and the call panel.

Most deployments are calling inside Salesforce within 30 minutes. Custom-object integrations take 1 to 3 hours depending on scope.

Click-to-dial from any Salesforce object

Every phone number field becomes clickable. Standard objects — Lead, Contact, Account, Opportunity, Case — work immediately. Custom objects work after a one-click enable in the admin portal. Click-to-dial respects your dial-rules (country codes, outbound caller ID, compliance checks).

No more copy-paste from Salesforce to a softphone.

AI transcription auto-logged to activity timeline

Live transcription runs as the call happens. When the call ends:

  • Full transcript attaches to the Salesforce activity record as a rich-text field
  • AI-generated summary with intent, sentiment, action items, and next steps posts to the activity’s comments
  • Sentiment score fills a custom field on the contact/lead/opportunity
  • Keywords and competitor mentions flag for sales-ops review
  • The call recording (if enabled) attaches as a file

Wrap-up notes become a historical artifact, not a 5-minute post-call task.

Bi-directional sync

Direction 1: Salesforce → DialPhone. A lead status change in Salesforce triggers a follow-up SMS cadence in DialPhone. An opportunity stage change triggers a schedule-a-call workflow.

Direction 2: DialPhone → Salesforce. An inbound call from an unknown number creates a lead record in Salesforce with enriched contact details from the AI. An AI-scheduled appointment writes to the Salesforce calendar.

Custom objects, custom fields, picklist values, record types, and workflow-trigger conditions all supported. The admin portal’s mapping tool is drag-and-drop.

AI SMS drafting inside Salesforce

Incoming SMS shows up in the DialPhone Lightning component on the contact record. AI-drafted replies suggest responses based on the full Salesforce history, recent activity, and your approved playbooks. Reps edit or send with one click without leaving Salesforce. Responses sync to the activity timeline automatically.

Smart Virtual Concierge for lead triage

Pair the integration with the AI Receptionist and inbound calls to your main line get handled by a 24/7 AI that:

  1. Greets the caller, identifies intent
  2. Checks Salesforce for a matching contact (by phone number)
  3. If no match, creates a new Lead with captured details (name, company, reason for calling, enriched firmographic data)
  4. Books an appointment on the right rep’s calendar or transfers live with AI-summary context
  5. Sends a confirmation SMS and logs everything to the new Lead

This is the feature that converts “missed call voicemails” into “booked appointments” at 2am on a Saturday.

DialPhone for Salesforce — Frequently asked questions

Is DialPhone on Salesforce AppExchange?
Yes. DialPhone for Salesforce is listed on the Salesforce AppExchange as a managed package. Installation is one click from AppExchange into a Salesforce sandbox or production org. The managed package handles future upgrades automatically; customizations you make to field mappings and layouts persist through upgrades.
Does it support Salesforce custom objects?
Yes. The integration supports custom objects on both reads and writes. You can configure DialPhone to log calls, SMS, and AI summaries to any custom object in your Salesforce schema (for example a custom 'Loan Application' or 'Property Showing' object). Bi-directional sync works with custom fields, picklists, record types, and workflow-trigger conditions. No coding required — configuration is through the DialPhone admin portal.
Is the Salesforce license included?
The DialPhone for Salesforce managed package is included in the DialPhone Advanced and Ultra plans — you do not pay extra to DialPhone for the integration. You still need Salesforce licenses for your users (any edition from Sales Cloud Professional up supports the integration). DialPhone does not resell Salesforce licenses; get those from Salesforce directly.
How long does setup take?
A straightforward deployment takes 15 to 30 minutes: install from AppExchange, authenticate with OAuth, map the standard fields, enable click-to-dial on the layouts you want. Custom-object integrations typically take 1 to 3 hours depending on scope and number of custom fields. The DialPhone Customer Success team provides free installation support for Advanced and Ultra plans.
Does it work with Salesforce Service Cloud?
Yes. Service Cloud is fully supported including Omni-Channel routing, Case auto-creation from calls, agent utilization tracking, and Service Cloud Voice equivalence. The DialPhone contact center (CCaaS) product layers in if you need 100 percent interaction analytics, AI Quality Management, and AI Workforce Engagement. Support teams often run DialPhone as the voice channel inside Service Cloud's Omni-Channel.
What Salesforce editions are supported?
All Salesforce editions that support the AppExchange managed-package framework and custom Apex hooks: Sales Cloud Professional, Enterprise, Unlimited, and Developer; Service Cloud Essentials and above; and most industry clouds (Financial Services Cloud, Health Cloud, Nonprofit Cloud). Essentials and Starter editions have some feature limitations driven by Salesforce's platform restrictions — not by DialPhone.
