If you’re weighing DialPhone vs OpenPhone for your business phone system in 2026, the choice usually comes down to three factors: real total cost over 36 months, whether AI receptionist is included or addon, and how the platform handles US/Canada cross-border seats.
Every competitor figure below is taken from the vendor’s own published pages and is listed with its source and check date at the end of this page. Where a vendor does not publish a figure, this page says so instead of estimating.
TL;DR: at a glance
- Best for small mobile-first teams wanting the lowest published per-seat price: OpenPhone (now Quo)
- Best for teams that need video meetings, online fax, a contact center or a published uptime commitment, none of which Quo carries: DialPhone
- Critical 2026 difference: OpenPhone now trades as Quo. Quo is cheaper per seat at entry and bundles an AI agent; DialPhone adds published contact-center tiers and a HIPAA BAA on Advanced and higher. certifications.

Pricing breakdown
DialPhone
- Core ($24/user/mo, annual): unlimited US/Canada calling, SMS, HD video meetings up to 200 participants, AI live captions and transcription
- Advanced ($34, annual): adds AI SMS drafting, Proactive Workflow Automation, integrations and a HIPAA BAA
- Ultra ($54, annual): adds advanced analytics
- Contact Center (separate CCaaS plans from $65/agent/mo): omnichannel routing, AI quality management, workforce management
- Smart Virtual Concierge (AI Receptionist): separate $59/month add-on, or $69/month in the AI Pro Bundle
All plans are billed annually and include a 14-day free trial with no card required. A HIPAA Business Associate Agreement is available on Advanced and higher. The AI Receptionist is a separate add-on, not part of Core, Advanced or Ultra.
OpenPhone
Starting tier: $19/user/mo (Starter, monthly; $15/user/mo billed annually). OpenPhone, which rebranded to Quo in 2026, also offers Business ($33/mo) and Scale ($47/mo) tiers. The Starter plan limits one number per user; multiple numbers cost extra, and advanced workflow automation requires the Business tier. (Pricing verified at the vendor’s pricing page, June 2026.)
The figure above counts subscription seats only, at Core annual pricing: 25 x $24 x 36 = $21,600. It excludes taxes and telecom fees, usage, hardware and add-ons such as the AI Receptionist. Model your own configuration with the VoIP TCO calculator.
Feature parity
Where Quo (formerly OpenPhone) is the better fit
Quo publishes lower prices at every tier: Starter $15, Business $23 and Scale $35 per user per month on annual billing, against DialPhone’s $24, $34 and $54. Quo also includes its AI agent in the plan rather than charging for it separately, which is the opposite of DialPhone’s $59 per month AI receptionist add-on.
Quo’s limitation
It is a calling and messaging product. There are no video meetings, no online fax and no contact-center product, and we could not locate a published uptime SLA. The 2026 rebrand from OpenPhone also means older documentation and community answers refer to a name the product no longer uses.
Where DialPhone is the better fit
DialPhone carries what Quo does not: HD video meetings for up to 200 participants, online fax, a contact-center product from $65 per agent, a HIPAA BAA offered on Advanced and higher, and a published 99.999% monthly uptime target with service credits.
DialPhone’s limitation
DialPhone is more expensive at every comparable tier, charges separately for the AI receptionist that Quo includes, and was founded in 2024.
What the higher price buys
Being more expensive is only a problem if nothing comes with it, so here is what does, stated as inclusions rather than savings. DialPhone Core at $24 carries unlimited US and Canada calling, HD video for up to 200 participants, AI live captions and transcription, business SMS, online fax, free number porting and 24/7 support. Advanced at $34 adds AI SMS drafting, Proactive Workflow Automation, CRM integrations and a HIPAA Business Associate Agreement at no surcharge.
Contact Center is published per agent at $65, $95 and $145 and sits on the same agreement as the phone system, covering more than 20 digital channels alongside voice. Teams of 25 seats or more get white-glove migration including call-flow recreation and parallel cutover. The 99.999% monthly uptime target with service credits is contractual, in Terms §6. None of that makes DialPhone the cheapest option, and this page does not claim it is.
When to pick OpenPhone
Choose OpenPhone if:
- 5-15 seat startup teams wanting clean iOS/Android-first UX over feature depth
- Quo Starter at $15 per user per month is below DialPhone Core at $24
- Quo lists an AI agent as included in the plan rather than as a separate add-on
When to pick DialPhone
Choose DialPhone if:
- You need video meetings, online fax or a contact center, none of which Quo offers
- You want an AI receptionist from the same vendor as your phone system (Smart Virtual Concierge, $59/month add-on)
- You want unlimited US and Canada calling in the base plan without an enterprise agreement
- You want a contractual 99.999% monthly uptime target with service credits (Terms section 6)
- You need a HIPAA Business Associate Agreement (available on Advanced and higher)
What’s NOT in the comparison
Some features that don’t differ meaningfully between the two for SMB use cases:
- Mobile apps (both have iOS/Android)
- Standard VoIP features (call forwarding, voicemail, hold music)
- Number porting (both support; timelines depend on the losing carrier, number type and documentation)
If a comparison post tells you “DialPhone has voicemail and OpenPhone has voicemail”, yes, every vendor does. The differences that matter are above.
How we built this comparison
Competitor pricing, plan names and feature availability are taken from the vendor’s own current pricing, product, security and legal pages. Every figure used is listed with its source, publisher and check date in the Sources section of this page. Where a vendor does not publish a figure, this page says so rather than estimating one.
DialPhone figures come from the DialPhone pricing page and the Terms of Service. If you find a discrepancy, tell us and we will correct it.
Verdict
There is no automatic winner here. DialPhone fits teams that want business phone and contact center from one vendor with published per-seat pricing and an AI receptionist available as a paid add-on. OpenPhone fits teams that match its own strengths (modern lightweight business phone). Price both at your real seat count against each vendor’s current pricing page before deciding.
The honest test: run both through the TCO calculator at your actual seat count + use case. Whichever lands lower for your spec is the right answer.
