If you’re weighing DialPhone vs Vonage Business for your business phone system in 2026, the choice usually comes down to three factors: real total cost over 36 months, whether AI receptionist is included or addon, and how the platform handles US/Canada cross-border seats.
Every competitor figure below is taken from the vendor’s own published pages and is listed with its source and check date at the end of this page. Where a vendor does not publish a figure, this page says so instead of estimating.
TL;DR: at a glance
- Best for teams that want a published entry price below $20 a line and programmable voice, SMS and video APIs from the same vendor: Vonage Business
- Best for teams that want AI transcription and summaries in the plan and a single per-user price with no per-line tax-and-fee layer: DialPhone
- Critical 2026 difference: Vonage lists lower headline prices, from $19.99 a line against DialPhone’s $24 a user, but adds taxes and fees on top and gates desk phones, video and SSO above the entry tier. Vonage Contact Center is a separate product from Vonage Business Communications and is not covered by these prices.

- Advanced ($34, annual): adds AI SMS drafting, Proactive Workflow Automation, integrations and a HIPAA BAA
- Ultra ($54, annual): adds advanced analytics

Vonage Business
Vonage Business Communications publishes three tiers per line per month: Mobile at $19.99, Premium at $29.99 and Advanced at $39.99, each currently discounted 30 percent on a 12-month promotion to $13.99, $20.99 and $27.99. Vonage states “plus taxes and fees” against every price, so the published figure is not the delivered cost.
The tiers gate real capability. Mobile covers desktop and mobile apps, unlimited domestic calling, SMS and MMS, and voicemail. Premium adds support for VoIP desk phones, unlimited video meetings for up to 200 participants, team messaging, the VBC App Center and single sign-on. Advanced adds on-demand call recording capped at 15 hours a month, visual voicemail with transcription, and call groups.
We previously said that moving from Mobile to Premium adds $30 per seat per month. That is wrong: Premium is $29.99 in total, a $10 step up from Mobile at list. The claim has been removed.
The integration figure is worth noting on both sides. Vonage publishes the VBC App Center as offering 20+ third-party integrations, which is a smaller published catalogue than most competitors in this comparison set. DialPhone does not publish a verified integration count at all.
The figure above counts subscription seats only, at Core annual pricing: 25 x $24 x 36 = $21,600. It excludes taxes and telecom fees, usage, hardware and add-ons such as the AI Receptionist. Model your own configuration with the VoIP TCO calculator.
Feature parity
Where Vonage Business is the better fit
Vonage publishes a lower entry price than DialPhone, $19.99 a line at list and $13.99 on the current 12-month promotion, and lets you buy online without a sales call. Premium publishes unlimited video meetings for up to 200 participants, single sign-on and the VBC App Center. Advanced adds on-demand call recording and visual voicemail with transcription. Vonage also sells programmable voice, SMS and video APIs, so a team building custom communications workflows can source both from one vendor.
Vonage Business’s limitation
Every published price carries “plus taxes and fees”, so the headline is not the bill. The entry Mobile tier has no desk-phone support, no video meetings and no SSO, all of which start at Premium. Call recording is capped at 15 hours a month and only on the top tier. The VBC App Center publishes 20+ integrations, a narrower catalogue than most vendors here. Vonage Contact Center is a separate product with separate pricing.
Where DialPhone is the better fit
DialPhone includes AI live captions and transcription, HD video for up to 200 participants and unlimited US and Canada calling in its $24 entry tier rather than gating them upward, and publishes contact-center pricing under the same agreement rather than as a separate product.
DialPhone’s limitation
DialPhone lists above Vonage at entry, $24 against $19.99, and well above the promotional $13.99. It offers no programmable communications API product comparable to Vonage’s, was founded in 2024 against Vonage’s 2001, publishes no verified integration count, and charges $59 a month extra for its AI receptionist.
What the higher price buys
Being more expensive is only a problem if nothing comes with it, so here is what does, stated as inclusions rather than savings. DialPhone Core at $24 carries unlimited US and Canada calling, HD video for up to 200 participants, AI live captions and transcription, business SMS, online fax, free number porting and 24/7 support. Advanced at $34 adds AI SMS drafting, Proactive Workflow Automation, CRM integrations and a HIPAA Business Associate Agreement at no surcharge.
Contact Center is published per agent at $65, $95 and $145 and sits on the same agreement as the phone system, covering more than 20 digital channels alongside voice. Teams of 25 seats or more get white-glove migration including call-flow recreation and parallel cutover. The 99.999% monthly uptime target with service credits is contractual, in Terms §6. None of that makes DialPhone the cheapest option, and this page does not claim it is.
When to pick Vonage Business
Choose Vonage Business if:
- You want a published entry price below $20 a line
- You need programmable voice, SMS or video APIs from the same vendor as the phone system
- You want on-demand call recording included rather than bought separately
- You want to buy online without going through sales
When to pick DialPhone
Choose DialPhone if:
- You want AI transcription, video and unlimited US and Canada calling in the entry tier rather than gated upward
- You want an AI receptionist from the same vendor as your phone system (Smart Virtual Concierge, $59/month add-on)
- You want unlimited US and Canada calling in the base plan without an enterprise agreement
- You want a contractual 99.999% monthly uptime target with service credits (Terms section 6)
- You need a HIPAA Business Associate Agreement (available on Advanced and higher)
What’s NOT in the comparison
Some features that don’t differ meaningfully between the two for SMB use cases:
- Mobile apps (both have iOS/Android)
- Standard VoIP features (call forwarding, voicemail, hold music)
- Number porting (both support; timelines depend on the losing carrier, number type and documentation)
If a comparison post tells you “DialPhone has voicemail and Vonage Business has voicemail”, yes, every vendor does. The differences that matter are above.
How we built this comparison
Competitor pricing, plan names and feature availability are taken from the vendor’s own current pricing, product, security and legal pages. Every figure used is listed with its source, publisher and check date in the Sources section of this page. Where a vendor does not publish a figure, this page says so rather than estimating one.
DialPhone figures come from the DialPhone pricing page and the Terms of Service. If you find a discrepancy, tell us and we will correct it.
Verdict
There is no automatic winner here. DialPhone fits teams that want business phone and contact center from one vendor with published per-seat pricing and an AI receptionist available as a paid add-on. Vonage Business fits teams that match its own strengths (legacy VoIP with API platform). Price both at your real seat count against each vendor’s current pricing page before deciding.
The honest test: run both through the TCO calculator at your actual seat count + use case. Whichever lands lower for your spec is the right answer.
